Maynard Aquatic Center is the primary swimming facility at Burlington City Park, supporting recreational swimming, lessons, fitness programs and competitive teams. The Enclosure Project
The project is intended to restore dependable year-round use of the facility after a structural problem was identified in the former roof system. Construction received its notice to proceed in April 2026.
Programs When Open
The center has historically served recreational swimmers, swim lessons, water exercise, water-safety training and seven local high-school swim teams. Those programs are expected to return after construction, but future schedules and admission details have not yet been published.
Swim Safety
Burlington aquatic facilities use lifeguard supervision and may require a swim test for deep-water access. Young children and anyone using a safety vest must follow close adult-supervision rules.
Weather Policies
The City uses a lightning-detection system for aquatic operations. Outdoor activity may close when lightning is detected within the required radius and remain closed until the safety countdown clears.
Before You Go
The Maynard facility is unavailable for swimming during construction. Burlington is offering aquatic opportunities at other municipal facilities during the closure.
