AMUSEMENT RIDES
Burlington City Park offers five nostalgic family rides: its restored Dentzel Menagerie Carousel, a miniature train and child-sized planes, cars and boats. With inexpensive tickets, a seasonal schedule and several rides designed especially for younger children, the amusement area is an approachable addition to a day at the park.

The Ride Lineup
The early-1900s Dentzel Carousel and the miniature train are the two signature rides. Younger visitors can also choose the planes, cars and boats, each designed as a gentle, child-focused experience.
Tickets and Payment
Ride tickets are $1 each at the City Park concession stand. The carousel and train require two tickets per rider; the planes, cars and boats require one. The concession stand accepts cash, debit or credit cards and Apple Pay.
Height and Weight Rules
Children under 42 inches tall must ride the carousel or train with an adult. The planes and cars are for children 36–54 inches tall and under 80 pounds. The boats are for children 30–54 inches tall and under 80 pounds.
Hours and Weather
The carousel and train generally run on weekends year-round, with expanded weekday service in summer. The smaller rides operate from mid-March through late December, with weekday summer hours. All ride operations are weather permitting, and lightning, heavy rain or maintenance can temporarily pause individual rides.
Accessibility
The carousel includes an accessible chariot and ramp. The train has an accessible car with a 600-pound capacity, although it is not rated for powered wheelchairs; one attendant may accompany each rider on the loading platform and ramp.
Before You Go
Measure younger riders before the visit, buy enough tickets for the rides you plan to repeat and allow extra time on event weekends, when ride lines and parking are busiest. The playground, picnic areas and park trail make good companions to the amusement area.
