OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT AT TWEETSIE RAILROAD IN BLOWING ROCK, NC

SHOWS AND PERFORMANCES

Regular daytime entertainment includes Diamond Lil’s Can-Can Revue and the Magic Show at the Tweetsie Palace, plus Hopper and Porter’s Musical Celebration and the Country Clogging Jamboree at Miners Mountain Theater. DAILY SHOWTIMES

Diamond Lil’s Can-Can Revue: 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from April through October. July 4 adds 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. shows.

Tweetsie Magic Show: noon, 1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. from April through October. July 4 adds 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. shows.

Hopper and Porter’s Musical Celebration: 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from April through October. July 4 adds 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. shows.

Country Clogging Jamboree: noon, 1:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. from mid-June through Labor Day. July 4 adds 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. shows.

HOURS AND OPERATING SEASON

Regular daytime operations run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tweetsie Railroad is open Saturdays and Sundays from April 4 through May 31, plus Memorial Day Monday; five days a week from June 1 through August 8, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays; and Saturdays and Sundays from August 9 through November 1, plus Labor Day Monday.

Ghost Train operates Friday and Saturday nights from September 25 through October 31, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tweetsie Christmas runs on select evenings from November 27 through December 30, from 5:00 to 9:30 p.m. Miners Mountain and several daytime attractions are not open during the nighttime events.

ADMISSION AND PARKING

Regular daytime admission is $65 for ages 13 and older, $45 for children ages 3–12, and free for children age 2 and younger. Taxes and fees are included. Parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Golden Rail season passes are $150 for adults and $110 for children and include unlimited regular daytime admission plus pass benefits.

SEATING AND ARRIVAL

Shows are included with daytime admission and seating is first come, first served. Arrive about 15 minutes early for easier seating, especially with a wheelchair, stroller or large group. Use the Miners Mountain bus when the chairlift or walking trail is not practical.

ACCESSIBILITY

Show venues are accessible to guests with mobility needs. Arriving early gives staff time to direct a party to the most suitable entrance and seating area.

WEATHER AND SCHEDULE CHANGES

Some shows may not be performed every operating day. Outdoor and open-air performances can be delayed or canceled by severe weather. The Palace offers a useful indoor break during hot, rainy or cool conditions.

SPECIAL ENTERTAINMENT

The season also includes limited-run entertainment such as Day Out With Thomas, K9s In Flight, Riders In The Sky, Railroad Heritage Weekend, Ghost Train and Tweetsie Christmas. Special-event schedules and admission rules differ from the regular daytime lineup.

TIPS FOR PLANNING THE DAY

• Choose two or three priority shows and plan rides around their start times.
• Use an early Palace show before the midday ride crowds grow.
• Allow travel time between Main Street and Miners Mountain.
• Keep the posted daily show schedule available because individual performances may change.

WHO THIS ACTIVITY IS BEST FOR

The entertainment is designed for families with children, but the music, dancing, comedy and western-themed performances also work well for grandparents and guests who prefer seated attractions to rides.
