OUTDOOR ATTRACTION AT TWEETSIE RAILROAD

Tweetsie Railroad is a Western-themed outdoor park at 300 Tweetsie Railroad Lane, Blowing Rock, NC 28605. Main Street storefronts, a historic steam railroad, mountain scenery and themed park areas give visitors plenty to explore beyond any single ride or show.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE

Stroll through the park’s Western streets and gathering areas, watch the locomotives and take in the elevated views around Miners Mountain. The daytime park includes Tweetsie Junction, Country Fair and Miners Mountain. Use the chair lift, walking trail or accessible bus to reach the mountain area. Separate guides cover the train ride, amusement rides, performances, gem mining, zoo and playground.

HOURS AND SEASON

The daytime park operates from early April into early November on scheduled dates, generally 10 a.m.–6 p.m. The Ghost Train runs on select fall evenings, generally 7:30–10:30 p.m. Tweetsie Christmas opens on select evenings from late November through December, generally 5–9:30 p.m.; only the lower park is open for that event. ADMISSION AND PARKING

Daytime admission is $65 for ages 13 and older, $45 for ages 3–12, and free for children age two and younger. Parking is free. Admission includes the train adventure, amusement rides, live shows, Deer Park Zoo and gold panning; gem-mining buckets, food and shopping cost extra. GETTING AROUND AND ACCESSIBILITY

The park mixes level areas with hills, so comfortable walking shoes help. Most areas are wheelchair-accessible, and a bus connects the Tweetsie Palace with Miners Mountain. Accessible parking is near the entrance; wheelchairs are available at First Aid on Main Street for $10 per day, first come, first served. Stroller rentals, restrooms, first aid, dining and shops are also available.

VISITING WITH CHILDREN

Guests age 15 or younger must be accompanied by a responsible chaperone age 21 or older who remains in the park and can be reached by phone. At least one chaperone is required for every ten guests age 15 or younger. Individual rides have their own height and accompaniment rules.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

Allow a full day for the daytime park if you want to explore its different areas without rushing. Arriving near opening gives you more time for the park atmosphere and scheduled entertainment.
