Deadwood is a family-run Western-themed attraction in the Bear Grass area of Martin County, near Williamston. Its frontier-style buildings, restaurant and outdoor play areas make it a relaxed stop for families. Admission to the grounds is free; individual experiences and food are priced separately.

Hours and Best Time to Visit
Deadwood is open year-round Thursday 5–9 p.m., Friday 5–9:30 p.m., Saturday noon–9:30 p.m. and Sunday 11:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m. It is closed Monday through Wednesday. Daylight on weekends offers the clearest view of the Western streetscape and more time for children to play. Seasonal events have their own schedules.
Admission and Activities
There is no general admission fee to walk through Deadwood. The playground and Western-themed grounds can be enjoyed as part of a visit. The Iron Horse Express train is listed for Saturdays from May through August, with non-themed rides priced at $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12 and free for children under two with an adult ticket. Halloween and Christmas train events have separate pricing. The Dinosaur Canyon Coaster and Gold Mine Mini-Golf Course are listed as under major renovation, so do not plan a visit around those rides.
What to See
Explore the Old West-style buildings, themed details and outdoor spaces, then spend time at the playground. Deadwood also has a restaurant, ice cream and coffee shop, arcade and picnic spots. The Haunted Train is a seasonal October attraction, while the Polar Express train runs during the holiday season. Those ticketed events are distinct from a regular visit to the grounds.
Food, Accessibility and Families
The Smokehouse Grill serves a full restaurant menu, and the grounds offer places to pause. Deadwood states that the property is accessible. Families with young children should allow time for unstructured play and keep children supervised around rides and train tracks.
