WHAT TO EXPECT

Pullen Park pairs a 1911 Gustave A. Dentzel carousel with a separate kiddie-boat ride. The carousel has hand-carved animals and a bench option; the small boats circle beneath a covered pavilion. The miniature train is covered in its own Pullen Park activity guide.

CAROUSEL

One $2 ticket is required per rider. Children must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone. A child under 42 inches may ride with a parent or guardian, and both need tickets. The carousel has wheelchair access and bench seating.

KIDDIE BOATS

Children must be between 30 and 54 inches tall. Each rider needs one $2 ticket. Only the operator may enter the fenced ride area while the ride is moving. Kiddie boats run on limited days and hours.

HOURS

Amusement hours are Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., and Friday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Individual rides can close earlier because of darkness, weather, maintenance or seasonal operations. Ticket sales stop 15 minutes before a ride closes. The park and restrooms are open daily, 7 a.m.–9 p.m.

TICKETS AND PARKING

Tickets cost $2 per person per ride; children under one ride free with a paying adult. Buy digital ride tickets through Raleigh RecLink before arriving or at the Pullen Park Welcome Center when a cashier is available. Digital tickets are not tied to a date or time and do not expire. Parking is available at the 520 Ashe Avenue entrance, including accessible spaces.

ACCESSIBILITY AND AMENITIES

Paved park paths, accessible restrooms and the carousel bench make this an approachable stop for many families. Pullen Place Cafe is beside the amusement area near the Welcome Center.

VISITING WITH CHILDREN

Measure children before lining up for the kiddie boats or riding the carousel without an adult. Tickets are needed for accompanying adults on the carousel. For the shortest wait, try the beginning of the operating day or a weekday.
