OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT

Live music, dance, roaming performers and seasonal celebrations bring another layer of fun to Carowinds beyond the rides. Entertainment is staged throughout the Charlotte-area park, with family-friendly shows and special events that change with the season. Most regular performances are part of park admission; separately ticketed events have their own admission rules.

WHAT YOU CAN SEE

Carowinds offers live music, family shows, dancers, roaming performers and special-event entertainment alongside its rides. The lineup changes by season and day. Performances may appear on outdoor stages and along the midways, while some family shows take place in the Carowinds Theater. Examples include PEANUTS musical shows, local bands and themed festival performances.

WHERE AND WHEN

Carowinds is at 14523 Carowinds Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273. Regular entertainment runs on selected park operating days; a show is not necessarily presented every hour the gates are open. For an outdoor performance, arrive before the posted start time for a good viewing spot. The park posts showtimes at the venue and in the Six Flags mobile app.

September: The dry park generally opens Friday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to midnight and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to midnight. Select Sundays and event dates have different opening and closing hours.

October: Friday evenings generally run 6:00 p.m. to midnight; Saturdays 11:00 a.m. to midnight; Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; and selected Thursdays 6:00 p.m. to midnight.

November: Selected weekends generally operate 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. WinterFest begins after Thanksgiving, generally opening at noon and ending around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.

December and early January: WinterFest generally operates noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sundays and selected weekdays and noon to 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays. New Year’s Eve can run later; the season extends into early January. In spring and summer, the dry park generally opens by late morning and remains open into the evening on many operating days, but individual days vary.

ADMISSION AND RESERVATIONS

Regular shows and midway performances are generally included with Carowinds admission, with no separate seat reservation. A standard one-day admission ticket commonly falls in the roughly $45–$80 range before taxes and fees, depending on date and purchase method; online advance tickets tend to cost less than gate purchases. General parking is a separate purchase unless included with a qualifying pass. Gold Pass benefits include repeat admission and general parking. Purchase tickets, parking and passes through Carowinds tickets.

Some separately ticketed entertainment or seasonal haunted attractions require an add-on beyond ordinary admission. The outdoor shows at SCarowinds are part of event admission, while haunted mazes and premium experiences can carry their own admission rules.

SEASONAL EXPERIENCES

Spring festivals may bring live bands and dance performances. Summer includes family entertainment and special celebrations. SCarowinds in autumn adds nighttime music, theatrical scares and performers; it is not recommended for children under 13. WinterFest brings holiday lights, music and festive shows during the park’s late-November-to-early-January season.

COMFORT AND ACCESSIBILITY

Outdoor shows can be hot, sunny, loud or crowded. Bring water, weather-appropriate clothing and sun protection; for evening performances, dress for cooler temperatures. Theater shows offer a seated indoor alternative. Plan extra time to move between stages, and leave room for a stroller or wheelchair where designated viewing areas permit. Severe weather can interrupt outdoor performances.

WHO WILL ENJOY IT

Families with children, groups and visitors who want a break from ride queues can enjoy the music and short shows. Some nighttime Halloween programming is deliberately frightening, while PEANUTS and many daytime acts are family-oriented. Concerts and showtimes vary, so this activity works best as part of a wider Carowinds visit rather than a guarantee of one particular act.
