MOUNTAIN COASTER
The Blue Ridge Mountain Coaster at Jellystone Park Golden Valley is one of the most exciting attractions at the campground. This alpine-style ride winds its way down Cove Mountain with twists, turns, and drops that give riders both thrills and breathtaking views. What makes it unique is that each cart is rider-controlled—you can use the hand brakes to go at a slower, scenic pace or let it fly for a faster, adrenaline-pumping ride.
Stretching more than half a mile through the wooded slopes, the coaster combines adventure with the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A ride usually lasts about six minutes, giving guests plenty of time to enjoy the mix of speed and scenery. Whether you’re looking for heart-pounding fun or just a memorable way to take in the mountain landscape, the coaster delivers a one-of-a-kind experience that appeals to kids, teens, and adults alike.

MOUNTAIN COASTER & PARK ADMISSION
The Mountain Coaster is an additional fee on top of the cost of park admission. You can purchase passes just for the day to experience all the campground has to offer or you can stay for as long as you want at one of their many accommodations which include RV sites, tent sites, cabins, glamping tents, and more! Passes and reservations can be purchased online or at the location. It is recommended to purchase online prior to visiting to ensure availability.
THINGS TO KNOW
- You must book in advance for a session at the registration station, Ranger Store, or online.
- Signed waiver for everyone in your party is required. Parent or guardian must sign for anyone under 18.
- Drivers must be 9 years or older and a minimum of 54″ tall to drive or ride alone.
- Drivers must be 16 years or older to drive with an accompanying passenger.
- Passengers must be at 3 years or older and a minimum of 38″ to ride. Riders must be accompanied by a driver of 16 years or older.
- There is a maximum of 2 riders per sled and the total weight of the sled occupants must not exceed 350 lbs during dry conditions or 300 lbs during wet conditions.
- You cannot drive to the coaster yourself, you will meet up at the shuttle stop 15 minutes before your designated time. The shuttle stop is located diagonally from the lake in a gravel parking lot across the road from the zip line.
- Day Passes are for 11am – 7pm
- Day Passes are not available holiday weekends, including the Friday or Monday of a holiday weekend, (Memorial Day, Labor Day, and 4th of July). Limited quantity available and a confirmed reservation is required.
- Outside food is not permitted for Day Passes, but you can bring drinks.
- Quiet Hours are from 11pm – 8am

Their are numerous bath houses around the campground to accommodate everyone and they are open 24/7.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES
Washers and dryers are available at 2 separate Laundry Stations, one located near the Water Zone and one located in the pasture area of the Camp-Resort. Both are open 24 hours a day for your convenience.
PROPANE FILL STATION
We offer a propane fill station located near the Registration Station! Prices vary by tank size.
TRASH PICK UP
Curbside trash pick-up is 8am-dusk, daily! In order to avoid attracting animals, please do not leave trash outside overnight.
PARK RANGERS
You will see plenty of park rangers around the area ready to assist you with any needs you may have.
GOLF CART RENTALS
Golf cars are available for rental in 4 and 6 seater accommodations. Reserve early because they have limited availability.
