SCENIC CHAIRLIFT RIDES

Riding the chairlift at Beech Mountain Resort is more than just a scenic ride—it’s an immersive mountain adventure. During the summer and fall (Thursday–Sunday, late May to mid‑October), the resort runs scenic lift rides that carry guests up to 5,506 feet—the highest accessible summit east of the Rockies—for breathtaking panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A round‑trip ticket (around $20 plus a small media fee) delivers a peaceful 15‑minute ascent and descent, offering a rare opportunity to soak in crisp high‑country air and stunning vistas without any exertion.

At the summit, riders can step off at the famous 5,506′ SkyBar—the highest bar in the East—to sip a refreshing drink, enjoy a snack, and lounge on the observation deck while soaking in the scenery. The lift also provides access to iconic features like the disc golf course and downhill bike park, so it’s a great starting point for a full day of mountain fun. With family‑friendly rules (minimum height 36″, proper footwear, no pets or open containers) and RFID ticketing for smooth access, the experience is relaxed, safe, and hassle‑free .

What makes the chairlift ride at Beech Mountain stand out is its year‑round appeal and easy access to mountain life. It’s not just for skiers or bikers—it’s for hikers, photographers, sunset seekers, or anyone wanting to experience the summit’s vistas, the SkyBar’s relaxed vibe, and the cool mountain breezes. Whether you’re catching the sunrise, enjoying a fall foliage tour, or planning a sunset dinner event at the top, the lift transforms a simple ride into a memorable mountain moment.
